Multi-Chip Modules (MCMs)

Multichip Modules (MCM) – L (PCB), Thin Film (D) or LTCC (C)

From complex hermetically-sealed multi-chip-modules used in aerospace and defence applications to high-volume automotive control modules, our thick-film hybrids are designed for maximum reliability in the harshest environments. In these applications operating temperatures of 150 - 165 degrees centigrade are common-place.

SAW Oscillators

High-rel SAW Oscillators for today's space and defense markets, designed to custom frequency ranges for high stability and reliability.

API’s SAW Oscillators include Rad-Hard Voltage Controlled (VCSOs), Fixed Frequency, and Phase Locked. Low phase noise SAW oscillators feature high stability and reliability in frequencies from 100 MHz to 20 GHz.

Voltage Controlled SAW Oscillators

Space-Qualified VCSOS with Ruggedized Hybrid Construction

API Technologies' high performance line of SAW oscillators provide superior communication distances for frequencies of 350 MHz to 4,000 MHz and phase lock loop for heritage applications. Our radiation tolerant voltage controlled SAW oscillators (VCSO) are designed for space, satellite communications and aerospace systems.

API’s space-qualified VCSOs are standard products that can be modified to customer requirements for output frequency, frequency range and control voltage sensitivity.

RF/Microwave Filters

API Technologies designs, manufactures and qualifies filter components and assemblies for use in defense and commercial satellite payloads. Space flight hardware is designed to meet the harshest of spacecraft launch vehicle profiles and operational spacecraft operating environments. Other functions such as power dividing and combining can also be added. API Technologies space-product design team engineers product solutions for use in space exploration, DOD, commercial, LEO, MEO, GEO, and deep space.

Our mixers use high performance monolithic diodes for superior isolation and the lowest loss possible, and rugged duroid construction for proven performance against thermal dynamics and shock. To protect against corrosion and oxidation in extreme environments, hermetic sealing in Nitrogem is an option on select Kovar packages.

Our Push-Pull Design Techniques, coupled with transistors that have been selected for high linearity characteristics, enable API Engineers to achieve this incredible performance in High Linearity amplifiers, including IP2 values of +120 dBm.

By incorporating expert design techniques, careful material selection, and in-house testing in the development process, API Technologies can guarantee ultra low phase noise performance. Lower phase noise means improved spurious signal suppression, making our amplifiers ideal for even the most challenging systems and requirements.

Microwave Diodes

ESA Qualified product line, EU manufacture - Made in the UK

API Technologies specializes in offering fully customised wafer manufacture of Pin, Lim, Step Recovery & Tuning Varactor Microwave Diodes that are the most robust and reliable on the market.

These space-qualified microwave chip diodes are radiation tolerant to 1M rad by design. By utilizing irradiation of pin diodes, our models are able to achieve a faster switching speed than those of our competitors.

Broad product range supported by in-house diode manufacturing capability, EU manufacture
